Your phone cannot find your computer, or something does not respond? Go through this list. If it still does not work, write to us.

If your phone does not connect

Check that the Dokki host is open: look for its icon in the macOS menu bar or the Windows system tray.
Put your phone and computer on the same network. Avoid guest networks, which keep devices apart.
If the app does not find your computer, type the address the host shows.
Enter the PIN shown by the host. If you changed it, use the new one.
On Windows, allow Dokki through the firewall on private networks and mark your Wi-Fi as a private network.
Briefly turn off any VPN on your phone or computer: some block the local network.

macOS: open System Settings, Privacy & Security. Turn on Dokki under Accessibility (cursor, keyboard and controls) and Screen Recording (captures). After changing a permission, quit and reopen Dokki.
Windows: when the firewall asks, allow access on private networks. Some protected windows, such as administrator prompts, do not accept the remote mouse or keyboard.
iPhone: in Settings, Privacy & Security, Local Network, turn on Dokki.
Android: no special permissions needed; just be on the same network.

The touchpad or keyboard does nothing on my Mac

The Accessibility permission is missing. Turn it on for Dokki in System Settings and reopen the host.

Screenshots come out black or empty

On macOS, turn on Screen Recording for Dokki and reopen the host.

It disconnects when I lock my phone

That is expected: when you return to the app, Dokki reconnects by itself. If it does not, tap retry or enter the PIN again.

Does it work over a cable?

Yes, if your phone shares its connection with your computer over USB. Dokki uses the network created over the cable.

How do I disconnect a phone?

Change the PIN from the host. Every paired phone will need to enter the new PIN.
